2 major flaws in your compalint:
1. You’re too stupid to realize that we’re in a recession, and creating jobs is more important than paying down the deficit.
2. You’re being hypocritical, as you never complained about Bush’s massive spending.

1) I’d love to know the numbers you have about the first stimulus and how many jobs it created. Remember, unemployment wasn’t going to go over 8%? You’re too stupid to realize you’re a sheep.
2) You don’t know me, and don’t know whether I complained about Bush’s spending (I did).
Yes, but, it’s not enough to make a noticeable dent. Saving a couple of billion sounds commendable, but not when you’re running trillion dollar deficits.

Well, he is only proposing to save like $80 billion per year. Drop in the bucket compared to what has already been spent. It is a start, for sure… but I wonder how they will spin health insurance reform in the light of a spending "freeze"? Can they still pass it?
The real question is, will Congress go along? They have to pass the measure… I don’t think they will support the president in this.

No, this "spending freeze" is not a spending cut at all. It limits how much spending can increase for certain items. I will do nothing to reduce the deficit, in fact, it might actually increase it. This is nothing more than a shady PR move by the prez. Don’t be stupid, don’t fall for it.

To address your points in order…
1. I see that we are in a recession and think that job creation is important. Never said otherwise.
2. I am not being hypocritical at all, as I did actually criticize President Bush’s spending as well. Just because someone claims to be conservative does not mean that I blindly agree with everything they say and do. Similarly, just because someone claims to be liberal does not mean that I blindly criticize everything they say and do.
And yes, I believe that the spending freeze is a good idea and I am impressed that President Obama will be doing it.
That said, just because he is proposing it does not mean that Congress will enact it. Congress controls the purse strings.

a. It is a freeze on DISCRETIONARY spending – which has become such a small part of the federal budget.
