Why would Obama freeze salaries for those receiving federal funding?
My brother and my dad passed over 8 years ago. and we were getting $1,000 dollars a month for us each and my mom, $500. and plus a pension which equaled out to $3,500 now we are getting $500 my mom is enable to work and we are going to be living off $1,500. we barley had food in the house in the first place (we live in a trailer we own and still doesn’t help)
I don’t see how this would help anyone.
It was suppose to stop when i turned 18, and my brother turns 18 before me. by now it’s all stopping this May. and we were also suppose to receive our $1,000 a month after we turned 18 if we stayed in school and that was suppose to last until we were 21.
Now me and my brother can’t go to college like we planned because we won’t have the money for it, we can’t even pay the financial aide.
I want to know what exactly he is trying to accomplish, because everything that was planned has crashed.

and you try getting a job at 15 or a job anywhere here for that matter. My brother and I have applied to every single place in our area, and not even a single callback.

Many college age students work full-time and go to school full-time, I suggest maybe you try doing that.

If you want to go to college, you can. Have you even tried to fill out the FAFSA form? It’s free. Just because you have to do a little legwork doesn’t mean you can’t go. But perhaps if you’re not willing to do what many, many people do – get loans and work your way through – you don’t really want to go.

i worked 3 jobs and went to school full time, and that’s on cali living expenses. Ya know if you work a little harder on your grades full scholarships are available. also this helps allot

What you’re receiving isn’t a salary. You have to work to receive a salary. You’re probably getting social security benefits from the passing of your father. At any rate, if your mom is unable to work then she must have a disability. She should apply for disability benefits. If she doesn’t qualify for disability benefits, then she’s not disabled and needs to get herself to work. She’ll have to anyway when the social security cuts after you turn 18. I don’t know where you’re coming from on the college thing. You can apply for scholarships and grants that don’t have to be paid back. Even if you take out student loans, they don’t have to be paid back until after you’ve graduated. Or, you can do what I did and join the military and receive college benefits. I was able to finish most of my degree while in service and it didn’t cost me a dime, plus I still had benefits left when I got out. If you want to succeed in life you will do it… with or without parents making your way. One thing is certain, though. You won’t do it if you sit around waiting for it to come to you. You have to go make your own success.
