Roachenator: Journalist Bret Baier Fox News interviews an Irritable unhinged and angry Obama.

Obama prefers softballs but Bret “The Beaver” Baier is a REAL journalist

Transcript:

BAIER: Do you know which specific deals are in or out, as of today?

OBAMA: I am certain that weve made sure, for example, that any burdens on states are alleviated, when it comes to what theyre going to have to chip in to make sure that were giving subsidies to small businesses, and subsidies to individuals, for example.

BAIER: So the Connecticut deal is still in?

OBAMA: So thats not — thats not going to be something that is going to be in this final package. I think the same is true on all of these provisions. Ill give you some exceptions though.

Something that was called a special deal was for Louisiana. It was said that there were billions — millions of dollars going to Louisiana, this was a special deal. Well, in fact, that provision, which I think should remain in, said that if a state has been affected by a natural catastrophe, that has created a special health care emergency in that state, they should get help. Louisiana, obviously, went through Katrina, and theyre still trying to deal with the enormous challenges that were faced because of that.

(CROSS TALK)

OBAMA: That also — Im giving you an example of one that I consider important. It also affects Hawaii, which went through an earthquake. So thats not just a Louisiana provision. That is a provision that affects every state that is going through a natural catastrophe.

Now I have said that there are certain provisions, like this Nebraska one, that dont make sense. And they needed to be out. And we have removed those. So, at the end of the day, what people are going to be able to say is that this legislation is going to be providing help to small businesses and individuals, across the board, in an even handed way, and providing people relief from a status quo thats just not working.

Cassy Fiano and Allahpundit intrepidly attempt to decipher:

Apparently, there was a devastating earthquake in Hawaii that we all somehow missed.

Oh, wait, no. Thats right. There was no earthquake, and Obama is just totally clueless, as usual. In fact, the last earthquake in Hawaii to cause any deaths at all was in 1975, and two people died.

In any case, why is he using this argument, anyways? Hes turned this health care bill into a one-size-fits-all solution for everything. Not only will it fix our health care, but it will apparently create jobs and give disaster relief around the country!

Update (AP): My guess is Obama meant to say that Hawaii went through a tsunami caused by the quake in Chile and got distracted in his irritation at Baier. But who knows what goes on in his mind at this point? This is a guy who thinks universal health care is going to reduce the deficit.

Barack Obama golfing in Olomana golf link Hawaii Shankapotomus ShankaPOTUS

The President-elect took to the golf course yesterday during his waning vacation. After a decent shot on the 18th hole a woman yelled, “this is better than your bowling game.”
Barack Obama’s golf swing reveals he’s an athlete (?), a duffer and fun to play with (?)
By Michael Bamberger
Senior Writer, Sports Illustrated
Golf.com has performed an important service. It has posted five photographs, taken by AP photographer Gerald Herbert, that shows President-elect Barack Obama on vacation in Hawaii playing golf. This is invaluable as we all know that nothing, not even a CNN special called “Obama Revealed,” reveals the soul as ruthlessly and efficiently as how one plays the old Scottish game.
John F. Kennedy nearly made a hole-in-one on the short par-3 15th at Cypress Point (the best-smelling hole in all of golf, if you like the mix of eucalyptus and brackish ocean water) while running for the presidency in 1960. Kennedy, considered by presidential golfing historians to be by far the most skilled of our golf-playing presidents, was relieved to see the ball stay out. He was trying to succeed Dwight Eisenhower as president, and not as First Golfer. The game then wasn’t the populist activity it has become. Kennedy, foolishly, allowed himself to be photographed taking a golf swing in fancy loafers, no socks. Still, he won West Virginia.
But Obama does not have to run from his golf. The guess here is that he’s an athlete and a duffer and fun to play with. (wtf?)
In Photo No. 1, the first thing that strikes you is that Obama is a lefthanded golfer who plays golf wearing a watch, just like Phil Mickelson. Also like Lefty, the future president wears his watch on his left hand. One reason golfers will wear watches while playing is that it helps give them a visual for a hand position — the hinging of the hand and wrist — at the top of the swing. President-elect Obama, on the other hand, likely wants to know what time it is. Which is a good thing.
Photo No. 2 shows Obama with one of his staffers, Eugene Kang. Looks like a smart, young affable guy, maybe something like the character Charlie Young on “The West Wing,” who always had President Martin Sheen’s suit jacket ready. Whatever Kang’s responsibilities may be, they evidently include being not just golf partner but caddie, as he appears to be carrying both a lefthanded putter and a righthanded one.
Photo No. 3 indicates that, as a golfer Obama is taking a page from 41. That is, he’s warming up with a short iron. Sure, he could skip the 8-iron and go straight to the driver, let the big dog eat, give the crowd a thrill and while he’s at it take out a little Rod Blago aggression. But it wouldn’t be prudent. As Tiger likes to say, “Take baby steps.” Superb knee flex, it should be noted. He looks like a basketball player.
In Photo No. 4, Obama’s follow-through is not a thing of beauty, but there’s much to admire here: the cargo shorts (nothing says regular-joe golfer like cargo shorts), the little baseball cap that brings to mind the little caps worn by touring everyman Joe Durant, the casual pushed-down socks. We might need golf fashion guru Woody Hochswender to explain the pushed-down sock look and who it works for and why, but in any event the president-elect is not looking like a man who is taking his vacation golf too seriously. Which is an accomplishment itself.
In Photo No. 5, Obama has gotten a ball airborne and is admiring its flight. Who can’t relate to that?
Enjoy it while you can, sir.

israel; israeli wall is deep in occupied palestinian territories july 10 2009

Five years ago today, the international court of justice in The Hague published its advisory opinion on Israel’s separation wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). The keenly awaited verdict, requested by the UN’s general assembly, was clear: Israel’s wall is illegal, it must be removed and adequate compensation paid.

The wall’s illegality, and Israel’s obligation to dismantle the structure and pay damages for the consequences of the wall thus far, were all agreed by the judges by a margin of 14-1. (The ICJ also accepted the use of the term “wall”, since “other expressions” are “no more accurate”.) There was also confirmation that Israel’s settlements were “a flagrant violation” of the convention, established “in breach of international law” (contrast this with the mealy-mouthed nitpicking over outposts and “freezes” by Barack Obama and Binyamin Netanyahu). Overall, the court found that the route of the wall threatened to create “de facto annexation”, with the wall itself described as severely impeding “the exercise by the Palestinian people of its right to self-determination”.

At the time, the ICJ decision was hailed by Palestinians and dismissed by the Israeli government. As Yasser Arafat described it as a “victory for the Palestinian people”, a spokesman for the then prime minister Ariel Sharon, Raanan Gissin, opined that “after all the rancour dies, this resolution will find its place in the garbage can of history”.

Both the US and UK had opposed the entire process, on the odd grounds that the UN’s main judicial body for settling legal disputes was not “the appropriate forum to resolve what is a political issue”. In the words of Jack Straw, it was better not to “embroil” the ICJ “in a heavily political bilateral dispute”.

This opposition was rare later that same month, the general assembly voted by 150 to six in support of the ICJ opinion. The decision was also welcomed by the likes of Oxfam and Amnesty International, with Oxfam’s director adding that the ruling was a “step in the right direction” but needed “further action” by the international community.

But meaningful “further action” was not forthcoming, and Israel pressed on with the wall. Five years on, the wall loops around the West Bank and cuts through East Jerusalem, isolating Palestinian communities and devastating lives, and has become an integral part of Israel’s apartheid regime in the territories. About two-thirds of the 700km+ route, featuring a 8m-high wall, electric fences, sniper towers and “buffer zones” up to 100m wide, is completed or under construction. Of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, 8.5% will be on the “wrong” side of the wall. In terms of size as well as significance, this would be comparable to the UK losing Greater London and south-east England.

For Israel to consolidate its hold on the illegal colonies in the OPT, many Palestinians find themselves hemmed in and surrounded by the wall’s contortions (pdf). About 35,000 Palestinians with West Bank IDs are to be caught between the wall and the Green Line if you add (pdf) the East Jerusalem Palestinians in the same position, this figure increases to about 260,000.

These are the bare facts five years on from the ICJ opinion. Israel has ignored the judges’ decision, but that’s not a surprise. However, has the Palestinian leadership sufficiently exploited the opinion? Speaking to Palestinians involved in monitoring the wall’s progress, or in directly resisting it on the ground, there is a feeling that Palestinian diplomats have not done as much with the ICJ result as they could have.

Palestinians in communities directly affected by the wall continue to put up resistance, sometimes at their cost of their lives: 18 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces during anti-wall protests, the youngest victim a 10-year-old boy. While they fight for survival, the wall has also played a key role in changing the big picture, delineating the borders of the Palestinian enclaves Israel will grant “statehood”.

In 1994, the then Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin said that “we have to decide on separation as a philosophy”. However, this is not separation on equal terms the following year Rabin also made it clear that the Palestinian “entity” would be “less than a state”. There is a term for unequal separation in international law apartheid (I will talk about this tonight). The wall urgently needs dismantling; but it is only one part of a bigger whole.

Obama Flips off Hillary

During today’s (April 17th) Raleigh, NC speech Obama undeniably flips off Hillary. You can even see him, get raddled and can’t help but to start laughing. He did it a little too intentional for an adequate denial.

Think!!!

*To the doubters*
1. Barrack is Left Handed
2. Watch the full length video of the N.C Raleigh Speech. Towards the end of the speech, Barrack has a normal itch and scratches his face, using the Index finger and his left hand.
3. He did the same hand gesture at the exact same time, during the exact same speech in front of a different audience.
