Obama Submits .8 Trillion Budget – Iraq/Afghanistan have already cost one trillion!!!
US president Barack Obama released a $3.834 trillion budget proposal for the year 2011 today, February 1, 2010, projecting around $1.3 trillion deficit despite a three year non military discretionary spending freeze.
The Obamas budget includes a $6 billion investment in clean energy technologies, a $100 billion job package along with a $3 billion increase in elementary and Secondary Education spending for public schools.
The $100 billion job package includes tax breaks to small businesses that would in turn encourage employers to increase the hiring in companies.
The 2011 budget also seeks a 3 year non military discretionary spending freeze, one of the budgets many attempts to bring down the federal deficit. The plan calls for higher taxes on families who earn more than $250,000 a year, through the expiration of tax cuts implemented by former President George W. Bush in the year 2001 and 2003.
A levy fee on large banks means the government would regain $90 billion in losses stemming from the $700 billion rescue fund..
The budget would be highly debated and discussed in Congress where the Republican lawmakers will come out with their own ideas and what should have been included in the 2011 budget.
The Obama administration plans to unveil a defense budget on Monday that pours billions into drones, helicopters and special forces, reflecting a focus on fighting Islamist extremists rather than conventional armies.
The Pentagon’s spending priorities as well as its strategic vision — which is also due to be unveiled this week — are a product of the counter-insurgency campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan that have severely stretched the military.
The proposed 2011 defense budget comes to more than 700 billion dollars, a modest two percent increase, and unlike last year avoids sweeping cuts to major weapons programs, according to Pentagon officials and draft documents.
Despite alarm over the US government’s ballooning deficit, Obama has spared the military from belt-tightening efforts and will ask for 33 billion dollars for the current fiscal year to pay for a surge of 30,000 reinforcements in Afghanistan, said officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have already cost one trillion dollars since 2001, and the new budget calls for roughly 159 billion dollars to cover the costs of the US missions there — including about 11.6 billion to expand the Afghan security forces, officials said.
The budget asks for 9.6 billion for a range of helicopters — a lifeline for troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan’s rugged landscape — and 2.7 billion for unmanned drones and sensors used to hunt down insurgents.
The Pentagon sets a goal of nearly doubling the fleet of MQ-9 Reapers, unmanned planes that can carry precision-guided bombs, a coveted weapon that has transformed US tactics.
With special forces seen as serving a pivotal role in helping hunt down Al-Qaeda figures and training allied troops, the budget provides 6.3 billion dollars to provide equipment, training and 2,800 additional soldiers for the service.
In a longer-term strategy document mandated by Congress every four years, the Pentagon declares winning “today’s wars” as the military’s top priority, citing Afghanistan, Iraq and other unnamed countries where US forces can help to “dismantle terrorist networks,” according to a draft of the report.

When there is a recession you don’t have a spending freeze (Hoover economics 101) . When a bridge is broken, you place up a temporary one until the bridge is fixed again . You don’t close the bridge .

‘Spending Freeze’: Obama’s Con Game!
So, the Congressional Budget Office has revealed today that Obama’s Stimulus package is already going to cost $75 Billion more than was originally promised. Hey, that’s great because nearly 3 out of 4 Americans, according to a new CNN poll, believe the Stimulus was wasted anyway. I am sure that when the American people find out it was more of a waste than originally planned they will change their minds and be convinced that the Stimulus really did give us our money’s worth and really did keep us out of recession and under 8 percent unemployment as Obama promised. Obama is unaffected by the prospect that because of his lies, there is going to be a high political cost for his Democrat buddies in Congress come November. Obama is convinced his party won’t lose in 2010, like it did in 1994, because, as he’s recently said, they have him. Well, it’s great to know that Obama thinks his growing credibility gap is going to keep his party in power. His weakness is that he buys into his own hubris. It’s just like Obama’s loss in Massachusetts, he tried to say voters were angry with Bush, so they elected a Republican. We all know that doesn’t make sense and is laughable on the face of it. He’s completely ridiculous in his statements these days. Some have even said his statements are stupid, but I believe Obama says it not because he’s stupid, he says it because he believes you’re stupid and that you won’t call him out on it. No one should believe anything that comes out of Obama’s mouth anymore. His explanations and rhetoric don’t give the results he promises and his arrogance and aloofness to his growing credibility problem is leaving the impression that he’s some kind of man-child. He really believes that we are all ignorant rubes and won’t care because he thinks we don’t get it and that’s why he comes up with mealy-mouthed excuses for everything. And you know, its really funny that this information is coming about a day after Obama announced a freeze on discretionary spending which will supposedly save us $15-$25 billion a year over the next 3 years. Obama is now going to present himself as a deficit hawk. Obama’s record deficits make Bush look like a miser and don’t match up to his quote-unquote “I inherited the deficit from Bush” rhetoric.
I’m going to demonstrate quickly how Obama’s Spending freeze is nothing more than a big shell game, nothing more than a con and prove that Obama is nothing but a Con Artist.
This pie chart represents our deficit for 2009. This is what Obama has spent above and beyond our means. This is in excess of what we can actually afford. This is all the money that Obama has put on the nation’s credit card this year, 1.4 Trillion dollars. That is 1,400 billion for those of you who lack perspective. That’s over $4,500 for every man, woman and child in this nation.The small Golden Yellow sliver is the 25 billion dollar savings Obama is promising with his ‘freeze’ on discretionary spending. This so-called savings is only 1.8 percent of Obama’s deficit this year. The savings is only $8.10. What becomes of $4500 of debt in one year minus $8? That doesn’t even pay the interest. folks. If you did this with your own credit card, you’d be in trouble.
And remember, I already mentioned that the Congressional Budget Office says the Stimulus package is $75 billion more than expected. Hey! Doesnt that mean well need 3 to 5 years of this measly $8 freeze to pay for the overages of Porkulus that they just announced?
Net savings: ZERO to Negative. We can color the whole pie chart off-white now.
That completely wipes out all of the perceived benefit of Obamas newfound fiscal responsibility, eh? It’s also funny that all of this comes out just right before Wednesday when Obama is going to get on TV and attempt to portray himself as some of kind of fiscal conservative using this nonsense in his State Of The Union Address.
My pie chart doesnt even include the overages on other spending which are sure to occur in defense, homeland security and veterans affairs and the fact that this discretionary spending was already 24 percent higher than it was under Bush. Obama is just locking the discretionary spending in at a high level and then pretending to be fiscally responsible by calling it a spending freeze.
Why does Obama do this? Well, you see, when every proposal seeks to maximize political advantage instead of actually solving the problem, this is what you get.
People are starting to notice.

Obama-Pelosi Health Care Reform Scam

I see after returning from my Christmas deer hunting trip that the senate pushed thru the Obama-Pelosi Health Care Reform Scam. President Obama once bragged on how cost effective the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic were. This past week the Mayo Clinic in Arizona dropped the federal run failure of Medicare. Mayo Clinic sited that Medicare did not pay enough to cover the medical expenses that they provided.
Some of the problems with large scale federal programs is fraud and waste. In Miami Florida alone there are 10 people charged with (100 Million Dollars) in Medicaid and Medicare fraud. That was one small group of people in the Miami area. These 10 people were not even associated with each other. They all just came up with a way to scam the system last year for a nice $100 million in your taxes!
It will be no different in the Obama-Pelosi Health Care Reform Scam program when it is made into law. It will be filled with fraud. Medical cost will go up and medical care will drop! The penalty clause will be a major problem for many Americans as well. I learned from my brother-in-law while on our trip this will cost him $5,000.00 per year. He is self employed and self insures his family. He pays for his families medical expenses as they need care from a fund that he puts money into from his business. This has worked for him and his family better than buying insurance. Now if he does this he will be fined by the federal gov. $5,000. a year. Basically paying for some deadbeat to have free insurance!
